If you are interested in dental assistance jobs, you will find that you are in a position where you will be working directly with the dentist while the patient is receiving treatment. You will also have an administrative capacity where you will be reviewing and maintaining the patient's charts as well as making appointments and ordering the supplies that the office needs.

When you are looking at getting a dental assistant job, you will find that you need to have a high school degree or a GED, and that in most places, you will need to complete 1230 hours of formal training in a dental assisting program. You may also find that in some cases, you can receive on the job training and then receive certification in radiography and similar things.

Another type of dental job that you might be interested are dental hygienist jobs. Dental hygienist jobs essentially give you responsibility, preventive, educational and therapeutic services. With this job, you will be a licensed member of the dental team and you will also find that you are looking at taking care of the patient's history, doing the dental charting, screening for oral cancer and also taking care of blood pressure measurements. You will also be expected to perform dental X-rays as well as remove plaque and tartar from the teeth and to apply sealants that will protect the teeth from the same.

When you are interested in dental hygienist jobs, you will find that you need to have a high school diploma or a GED, as well as formal training at an accredited two year dental hygiene program. In some of the programs, you will need to take college courses before you can enter the program, and there are a varying amount of hours that you might need.

Further away from the immediacy of patient care, but certainly necessary are those who fill the dental technician jobs. Dental technician jobs are performed by people who work in laboratories and who will do things like create dental appliances, dental restorations and prosthetic devices. They will use laboratory techniques in order to create things like retainers, dentures, dental implants, crowns, bridges and much more. This is a highly technical job and there is a great deal of fine work that can be done in this field.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
