Southeast Georgia Health System has an opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant
to join our 6 Glynn Brunswick Telemetry team!
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic patient care, and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
Contributes to patient data base by collecting and documenting patient information such as height, weight, allergies, vital signs, and intake and output measurements.
Prepares patient rooms (beds and equipment) for receiving patient admissions, returning surgical patients, transfers, or discharges.
Assists in and accompanies patients in the admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
Always correctly identifies patient by name for any direct care procedures and treatments or diet; checks patient’s name band for correct identification:
assures proper name and that band is secured on patient’s wrist.
Provides general patient care such as morning care, which may include bed bath, oral hygiene, combing hair, dressing patient, evening care, back rubs, changing bed linen, cleaning overbed table and bedside stand, straightening room, and other general care as necessary throughout the shift.
Provides for patient privacy, at all times; closes room door and cubicle curtains for all procedures.
Prepares patient for meals, and assist with meals or feed patients.
Distributes drinking water, ice, and other nourishments to patients as ordered.
Collects and transports specimens as ordered or requested.
Reports any changes observed in condition or behavior of patients in a timely manner.
Responds promptly to patient needs and call lights (whether that of assigned patient or not), and checks on patients regularly between tasks.
Provides for patient safety through preventative measures (bed controls, nurse/patient communication system, side rails, and patient education).
The ideal Certified Nursing Assistant
should possess the following minimal qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Current Georgia Certified Nursing Assistant Certification required.
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
