Functions cooperatively with health care team members to assist patients with activities of daily living, under the direct supervision of RN or LPN.
Answers patient call lights and makes rounds to assigned patients.
Bathes, dresses, undresses patients. Provides personal care when necessary.
Provides general morning or evening care, which may include oral hygiene, ice water, cleaning overbed tables and bedside stand and straightening room.
Prepares patient for meals, assists or feeds patients if necessary.
Provides general care such as positioning patients, lifting and turning patients, assisting in bedpan placement, urinal or commode, ambulating the patient.
Keeps patient room tidy with equipment stored in proper location.
Changes bed linens.
Takes and records temp, pulse & respiratory rates, and food & fluids intake and output.
Reports any unusual patient condition changes or behavioral incidents.
Orients patient to room on admission regarding call light, TV control, bathroom, side rail, meal time.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to charge nurse, Department Director, Shift Director, co-workers, and physicians.
Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient’s needs.
Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations.
Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
Interacts professionally with patient/family.
External Customer Service skills - Interacts professionally with patient/family.
Internal Customer Service skills - Maintains an effective working relationship both with Unity staff and vendors.
Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Documentation meets current standards and policies.
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serve in the assigned unit.

All employees are oriented/trained to specific requirements of age groupings as required by their patient population and assignment: neonate, infant, toddler, pre-school child, school-age child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
Responsible for reporting non-compliance issues to the Compliance Officer.
Completed approved nurse aide course with certification preferred.
Must have some prior experience.
Must possess knowledge of customer service with a preference for previous experience with internal and external customers.
