The Allied Health Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Dental Hygienist Adjunct Faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed). The number of positions varies depending on the needs of the department. Appointments are renewed based on departmental need and teaching performance. Rank and compensation are based on experience and academic credentials. All applicants for this position must be proficient in English, have strong communication skills, and be effective classroom facilitators who enjoy teaching in a culturally diverse, student-centered environment.

JOB OVERVIEW
On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member's primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

 

Part-time faculty must be able to administer clinical instruction in local anesthesia along with clinical teaching and supervision of dental hygiene students. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
*On a part-time basis, conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses. *May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework. *Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities. *Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications. *Other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in health-related field

REQUIRED TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS
*Current Registered Dental Hygienist with active license in the State of Ohio *Local Anesthesia license in the State of Ohio is required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
*Must have at least two (2) years experience in a clinical dental hygiene environment *One year of clinical teaching experience in a dental hygiene program preferred *Experience with the Eaglesoft dental software program preferred
