Full Time Nights Telemetry Chesterfield Campus $3000 Sign On BonusnDescriptionnUnder the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse, the Patient Care Technician is responsible for performing non-licensed patient care in accordance with established Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies.This position is a non-licensed/certified staff member authorized to transport and/or stock medications to meet specified essential job duties. This includes staff who do not have the authority to prescribe, dispense and/or administer medications. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.n nPrinciple Accountabilities:n nPerforms general, non-licensed respiratory procedures:oximetry spot checksoxygen set-ups, tank exchangenAssist patients with mobility needs:transfersturning and repositioning in bedmaintaining a clean and safe room environmentassisting patient to bathroom transporting to tests or other hospital locationsnPerforms other patient care activities to include, but not limited to:simple skin careoral hygienepartial bathcomplete bathshavingbed making (unoccupied and occupied)foley care and emptying and recording output from foley cathetersproviding bedpan or urinal as neededweigh patientsapplication and reapplication of SCD's, TED hose, Aqua K pads, cold packspassing trays, water, juice and snacksadministering ice chips* m. feeding patients n. assisting with menu pick up/delivery and food cart transfer as needed o. applying restraints (bed alarms) as directedI&Oobtain vital signs (temp, pulse, respirations, blood pressure)emptying drains and ostomy bags, recording output s. changing non sterile dressing changesassisting with after death carepain assessment screeningurethral catherizationvenipunctureblood sugar monitoringassisting with observation of suicide patientsnMaintains CPR statusnPerforms 12 Lead ECGnPerforms patient care rounds on patients at least every 2 hours.nPerforms procedures related to specimen collection, reporting abnormal values to sputum, urine, stoolnTakes inventory of supplies and equipment and restocks as necessarynResponds to STAT/RRTnTransports supplies, mail, labs etcnPerforms other work duties as assignednDocuments patient information as directednTransport and/or stock medicationsnEducationnHigh School Diploma or GED RequirednExperiencenIn order to be eligible you must have one of the following:nC.N.A. Certification;nCurrent Nursing student with completion of nursing fundamentals course within 90 days of employment;nPrevious documented work experience as a PCT, Nurse Assistant, EMT or Surgical Tech within the last 3 years ornSuccessful completion of an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel program within the last 3 years.
