The Department of Dental Medicine at the University Of New Mexico School Of Medicine in Albuquerque is looking for an on-call Dentist to provide and oversee direct dental diagnosis, treatment, procedures, and care in a public health setting. The position requires a general dentist with a demonstrated strong clinical background in public health dentistry. The ideal candidate should be comfortable providing general dentistry for adults, children, and special needs patients. The dentist should have current relative experience with general dentistry including comfort with routine and uncomplicated surgical extractions. Prior hospital dentistry is a preference as some call will be required and after orientation may be assigned duties in an operating room setting. The program is a stand-alone dental program in an academic Health Science Center.

Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities; or enrollment in a Dental Residency Program.Certification/LicensureCurrent Licensure from New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Temporary and on-call employees working an appointment percentage of 26 (.26 FTE) or greater, per quarter, will be eligible to earn retirement service credits and thus are required to make New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (NMERB) contributions.
