Essential Job Functions:
1. Transcribes medical staff orders in both electronic and paper format.
2. Assists with patient registration, admission, and discharge.
3. Facilitates verbal, written and electronic communication within the health care team to coordinate safe and timely patient care.
4. Prepares patients, equipment and supplies for specific procedures and provides manual assistance as required including room and chart set up for admissions.
5. Provides or assists patients with bathing, hair care, nail care, oral hygiene, and shaving and back rubs as requested and according to procedure.
6. Provides or assists patients with dressing, ambulation, positioning, transferring, toileting and feeding as requested and according to procedure.
7. Under the direction of an RN, measures weight, vital signs, and I & O assists with range of motion exercises, empties urinary drainage bags. ','!*!Position Qualifications
Education:
Must be at least 18 years of age. High school graduate or GED required.
Prior clerical and computer experience is desired.
Previous hospital patient care experience desired.
Licensure/Certification:
Current active status on the Nebraska Nurses Aid Registry required.
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Medication Aide license will be required after employment commences if not already held.
